Das Wunderland-Thema lässt die Phantastik-Autoren offensichtlich einfach nicht 06los. Sowohl in einer der jüngeren Ausgaben der Nautilus als auch hier habe ich darüber berichtet, welche aktuellen und kommenden Romanprojekte es gibt, die auf Lewis Carrolls Wunderland-Mythos basieren.
In den kommenden Wochen werden es noch zwei mehr. “Wicked”-Autor Gregory Maguire hat mit “After Alice” einen Wunderland-Roman geschrieben, in dem Alice’ Freundin Ada ihr ins Kaninchenloch folgt. Und US-Autorin Christina Henry hat die Geschichte in ihrem diese Woche erschienen Roman “Alice” als düstere Urban Fantasy umgearbeitet:

Der Cape Cod Times hat Maguire allerdings versprochen, dass er die Geschichte nicht komplett auf den Kopf stellen will:
“I don’t try to crack an older story open with dynamite, but to worry a seam that has been left unexplored”, wird er zitiert.
Ich persönlich bin ja ein Fan davon, alte Geschichten – ob nun Märchen oder Literaturklassiker – neu zu interpretieren (wenn es nicht nach einer solchen Schnappsidee klingt wie die Pläne des Fernsehsenders CW zu “Betty und ihre Schwestern”).
Und jetzt hat man ja tatsächlich die Auswahl aus einer ganzen Reihe neuer “Wunderland”-Bücher.
